My Undergrad Thesis-00

Acknowledgements

This work would not have been possible without the contributions of so many people. There are some contributed directly while I worked on this, and others whose contributions go way back beyond this thesis. I am grateful to all, and I do not take any of the little and great involvement in my education and my life for granted.

My heartfelt gratitude goes to Dr. J.R Short. I could not have been in better hands for this project. For all the right questions, for leading by example and for according me just the right level of involvement and space as I worked on this, I am really grateful. I learned a lot from my interactions with you, I aspire to be a student and a teacher in your likeness.

To the Tokyo Christian University family, I do not have enough words for you. Thank you very much to all the staff and to the many professors under whose feet I sat to learn. I would like to thank my eight classmates, and all my seniors and juniors who gave me the best of learning company and the most stimulating learning environment. They all, in their different ways, made these last four years very memorable for me. I will always be grateful. Thank you to Dr. Musasiwa and Domboshawa Theological College for believing in me and asking to me to represent you.

I also would like to thank Martha and Gaius Berg. My ideas for this thesis took shape under their tutorship and they were always very supportive. I appreciate the time they took to read and comment on so many drafts, from the very thesis proposal itself. Special thanks to the people at Ojidai Chapel; they listened to these ideas when they were still raw giving me the platform to discover and organize my ideas. That would not have been possible without Atsuko Short’s help. I am indebted to her. I also want to extend my special thanks to Rebecca for proof reading work.

I especially would like to thank those who are most dear to me, my family. These people believe in me and support me through all. My dad and my brother have worked so hard and made so many sacrifices for me to be where I am. I am also grateful to my Aunt Mrs Karimazondo and her family. To the Pedzisa clan, “There are so many of you out there to mention by name. I am still grateful.”

I have made so many great friends who have had lasting impacts on my life. I am really grateful. Special mention to my friends from; Fletcher High School, Mkoba Baptist Church, Pinnacle Baptist Assemblies, Tokyo Baptist Church and International Bible Fellowship, I thank everyone one of you for touching my life and contributing to the person that I am.

Finally, to my three dearest friends, Shuvai Finos, Paul Kaufa and Simangele Moyo, “I thank you for being there, for believing in me and for listening to me dream. Love always!”
